Miller Jeep Trail
Lockwood Creek / Miller Jeep Trail
August, 2003
The trail covers a wide diversity of terrain over a equally wide range of elevations. There are lots of the same desert plants that we found on Rowher Trail and in Hungry Valley SVRA. At the higher elevations there are plenty of pine trees and I've seen a number of deer scampering along the trail. Unfortunately I have not had my camera in hand when the deer were in view.

Like many of the trails around Los Angeles, it can be hot, dry and dusty in the summer, so I try to run it in the spring and fall. In the spring there are colorful flowers in bloom, and even fruit on the Manzanitas. You just have to be looking for it.
