The Rubicon Trail

Jeep Jamboree USA

August 2006 / August 2007

The final day puts us back on the trail working our way through the forest. This section of the trail is shorter but has some fun off camber spots as we climb Cadillac Hill. In just a few short hours we are back on pavement in South Lake Tahoe putting air in our tires and feeling pretty good about making the trip without breaking anything.

The Rubicon Trail was an overwhelming event. So much so that I didn't spend a lot of time looking for and photographing the local flowers and animals. Maybe it was because it was the middle of summer, but I don't recall any notable wildflowers. And I am sure that the size of our group scared away any and all critters that were nearby. I know there is plenty of good trout fishing on the local lakes, and I expect there would be bears and deer in the area, too, however we didn't see any sign of either.
