Rowher Flats OHV Area

This trail is north of Los Angeles in the Rowher Flat O.H.V. Area in Newhall. The entrance to Rowher Flat O.H.V. Area is on Sierra Highway just past Sand Canyon, assuming your headed north out of Los Angeles. Take the 14 freeway north towards Palmdale and exit using the Sand Canyon offramp. Turning left, you cross over the freeway, wind through a few hills and end up at Sierra Hwy. At the intersection of Sand Canyon and Sierra Hwy, turn right and 4.5 miles later you'll see the signs on the right that mark the entrance on the left side of the highway.

Turn left on Rush Canyon Road and you'll see more signs posting the basic rules. The parking and unloading arear of Rowher Flat OHV is 3 miles in from this point and only the first short bit of it is paved. Stop at the top of the pavement to air down and get ready for a rough road in. The last few yards just before the first unloading and picnic area is the worst.
